About the Role
Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join their team in Austin, TX. This role is crucial for designing, inspecting, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide Construction Management Services to transportation agencies for large, complex construction contracts.
- Perform Fulltime Project/Construction Manager/Area Construction Manager duties.
- Conduct On-Site Construction Management & Supervision of field personnel.
- Negotiate Contract Change Orders & Claims.
- Maintain Client Relationships.
- Build and Train Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) Teams.
- Utilize Partnering & Negotiating Expertise.
- Prepare Client Communication between Client and Contractor.
- Analyze, rebut, approve, and provide technical write-ups/independent cost estimates (IGE) for Change Orders.
- Provide Monthly progress updates to Client/Owner.
- Prepare Construction Schedule Updates.
- Provide Quality Control/Quality Assurance Updates.
- Prepare Construction Budget Reports.
- Develop Technical Proposals & Interviews.
- Coordinate Design and Design Changes.
- Prepare Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
Requirements
- Must have experience as a Manager on small to large interstate construction projects ($30M to $300M range).
- Must be a registered PE (TX) and/or a certified CCM.
- Must have Construction Scheduling experience using Primavera P6.
- Experience with various DOT construction software and project controls software.
- Excellent Communication Skills required for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Demonstrated Experience providing Construction Management Services to transportation agencies for large, complex construction contracts.
- Demonstrated Experience as a Fulltime Project/Construction Manager/Area Construction Manager.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field, including walking and navigating rough terrain, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and standing/sitting for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and/or cart objects up to 50 lbs distances up to 25 yards.
- Ability to drive to and from project sites, potentially exceeding 200 miles round trip.
- Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks.
- Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
