About the Role

Accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of high value, complex capital projects and programmes, ranging from multi hundred million pound investments through to programmes valued around a billion pounds. Leading large matrix teams and external suppliers, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, achieving the outcomes defined by sponsors and operational stakeholders. You will work collaboratively across TfL and with external partners, influencing key decisions throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring new assets are delivered in a way that maximises value while minimising operational impact. As a senior leader, you will drive the development of the Project Management Community (PMC) hubs, driving collaboration, sharing best practice, and implementing innovative approaches that improve project delivery across Capital Delivery. You will champion resource management strategies that enhance flexibility, capability and efficiency, while creating opportunities for project professionals to develop their expertise across programmes. You will also be accountable for promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and TfL policies, and providing strategic leadership to strengthen project management capability and support the successful delivery of future investment programmes. This specific role will be accountable for delivering a series of new London Underground depot facilities for some of our largest programmes of work.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Accomplished programme delivery leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering major infrastructure and depot facilities in complex rail/Underground operational environments.
  • Experience leading the design and construction of new maintenance depots or similar large scale asset programmes.
  • Experience managing the challenges of fit out, operational integration and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience gained within the rail industry will be highly valued.
  • Commercially astute and inspiring leader.
  • Extensive experience of managing large multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Experience developing high-performing project managers and delivery professionals.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Excellent business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver major projects from a client side perspective in high profile, multi-stakeholder environments.
