About the Role

As a Quality / R&D Manager, you will bridge product quality and technological product understanding. You will ensure our products meet high-quality standards through laboratory analysis, complaint handling, and root cause analysis. You will develop and optimize recipes, translating product requirements into stable and reproducible solutions with our production partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize recipes and translate product requirements into technologically stable and reproducible solutions with production partners.
  • Understand the functional properties and interactions of various raw materials and assess their impact on processing, texture, stability, and product quality.
  • Accompany sampling and production trials with production partners and evaluate results from a technological perspective.
  • Manage product-related quality issues for existing and new products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and high-quality standards.
  • Handle quality deviations and complaints, conduct root cause analyses, and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to follow-up.
  • Perform product investigations and plan, coordinate, and evaluate laboratory analyses, as well as stability and shelf-life studies.
  • Create and maintain product specifications and test parameters, and be responsible for goods receipt and release processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team, production and fulfillment partners, and external laboratories.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Food Process Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a comparable scientific-technical field.
  • Several years of professional experience in the food, pet food, supplement, or functional food industry, ideally in product development, R&D, food technology, or quality management.
  • Practical experience in industrial manufacturing, including accompanying production trials, sampling, or process optimizations directly on the line or with production partners.
  • Very good practical understanding of recipes, raw materials, functional ingredients, and production processes, and their impact on processing, stability, and product quality.
  • Experience in quality assurance and quality control, ideally including laboratory analytics, complaint processing, CAPA, and release processes.
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements in food or feed law.
  • High willingness to travel and flexibility for short-notice on-site visits to partners.
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
