About the Role

Alpha Alternatives is seeking a Consultant to join our Finance & Operations (“FAO”) team, focusing on implementing technology solutions like FIS Investran and Allvue, and providing operations advice for core fund administration and accounting. The team's objective is to design, develop, and implement operational and technology improvement strategies to reduce costs, optimize processes, mitigate risk, and enhance portfolio value for clients.

Responsibilities

Support project leads and project managers with Fund Accounting System Implementation and Advisory engagements.
Document business processes and data.
Support onboarding activities, including data migration, reconciliation, testing, troubleshooting, and custom reporting, in collaboration with clients and Alpha Alternatives employees.
Develop detailed designs and documentation.
Document business constraints.
Create user testing strategies, plans, and scripts, and participate in test execution.
Define and recommend business processes.
Identify project issues/risks and recommend solutions.
Serve as a client point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop client relationships at all organizational levels and act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or asset management.
BA/BSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
Experience in Fund / Investment Accounting or other fund administration is a plus.
Experience with financial systems, including Fund Accounting, Investor Portals, CRM, etc.
Working knowledge of FIS Investran, Allvue System, LemonEdge.
Experience in management consulting or other consulting is a plus.

Skills

Deep understanding of fund or investment accounting.
Understanding of data migration activities from source to target system.
Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail, creative/independent thought, and proactive problem-solving.
Strong client-facing communication and analytical skills.
Understanding of process design and implementation.
Product knowledge across various asset classes is a plus.
Experience with Claude, Open AI, or other AI tooling is a plus.
