About the Role

This position provides administrative oversight for a program, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory bodies, and driving program quality improvement and new agency initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures administrative oversight of the program, staff, and residents.
  • Provides supervision and consultation while monitoring resident services.
  • Implements and monitors performance-based standards for governing bodies.
  • Facilitates utilization review, quality assurance, and program regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees financial expenditures and income, including budget compliance, narrative writing, and annual budget submission.
  • Reviews evaluations, admissions, treatment plans, resident charts, continuing stays, case conferences, and discharges for compliance.
  • Writes and/or revises agency policies, procedures, and compliance manuals.
  • Maintains positive relationships with government representatives, providers, and the community.
  • Responsible for therapeutic, residential, and employee quality assurance.
  • Develops and oversees educational activities, groups, and program activities.
  • Ensures use of universal precautions to limit infectious disease transmission.
  • Ensures direct case management of residents as needed.
  • Ensures an active Resident Government process with weekly involvement in house meetings.
  • Provides regularly scheduled supervision to program staff, including documentation and timely annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensures proper role assignments and shift scheduling of staff based on qualifications and agency requirements.
  • Conducts the hiring process for new program staff in consultation with HR and supervisors.
  • Maintains personnel files according to policy and procedure, protecting record confidentiality.
  • Provides new hire and ongoing training for employees, assessing further training needs.
  • Maintains on-call status for consultation and emergencies.
  • Conducts in-service training for the agency as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in agency special events.
  • Assists in the implementation of the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Serves on or chairs agency Committees as requested.
  • Integrates Trauma-Informed Care principles in all duties and interactions.
  • Maintains and models appropriate ethical interactions and boundaries.
  • Monitors program staff compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
  • Regular attendance at work location.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social sciences or human relations field and an Advanced or Masters level CASAC or other qualified health professional status.
  • Five years’ full-time paid work experience in chemical dependency treatment, two years of which must be in a supervisory role.
  • Other appropriate human services or mental health work experience may be applied to the experience requirement.
  • Bachelors’ degree in social sciences or human relations field and an Advanced level CASAC or other qualified health professional status.
  • Five years’ full-time paid work experience in chemical dependency treatment, two years of which must be in a supervisory role.
  • Other human service or mental health work experience may be applied to the experience requirement.
  • Must possess a New York State driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record & reliable automobile.
