About the Role

Our Building Sciences team is rapidly expanding and seeks motivated individuals to join our team of building physics specialists. The team applies physics principles to create masterplans, buildings, and public realms that are comfortable, climate-resilient, efficient, and environmentally friendly. We collaborate with stakeholders and design teams on diverse projects, from iconic buildings to net-zero carbon strategies for government bodies.

Responsibilities

Carry out thermal modeling of buildings to determine thermal comfort, visual comfort, energy performance, climate resilience, and carbon assessments to guide design solutions.
Prepare qualitative assessments for early-stage design advice, supported by a strong understanding of building physics.
Develop parametric modeling studies for building stock level design decisions.
Support and coach junior teammates in project delivery and upskilling.
Assist senior teammates in project delivery.
Prepare fee proposals, scope of services, and resource programs.
Lead program and resource management.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Building Physics related subjects (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Design Engineering, Modern Building Design, Sustainable building design).
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, building architecture, or similar.
Working towards MCIBSE or similar.
Competency in IES VE and EDSL Tas Engineering modeling packages for regulatory and design modeling.
Experience in IES APACHE HVAC and/or EDSL Tas Systems.
Ability to deliver projects using SAP, PHPP, and Grasshopper.
Python coding skills.
VBA or similar coding skills.
Competency in delivering projects using Revit or similar BIM related tools.
Competency in delivering projects using EnergyPlus, jEPlus, or similar.
Competency in delivering projects using SketchUP.
Competency in delivering projects using Sefaira.
Experience in InDesign.
Experience in Photoshop.
