About the Role
Design at Ziina is integral to making money feel simple, human, and unmistakably ours. We are seeking a Head of Design to lead this effort, setting the vision and actively participating in the design process. This player-coach role involves building and growing the design team while also contributing hands-on design work. You will influence how users experience their money daily, making design a key competitive advantage for Ziina.
Responsibilities
- Build and grow a high-performing design team, coaching designers and raising the standard of craft.
- Set the design vision and translate strategy into products that impact acquisition, activation, and retention.
- Lead end-to-end design for major initiatives, from concept to launch, with a focus on new products and features.
- Translate user insights into product decisions and establish feedback loops to refine the roadmap.
- Scale design operations by maturing the design system, addressing design debt, and increasing the speed of quality work delivery.
- Act as a strategic voice, influencing product and leadership decisions with data and clear thinking, and exploring AI/automation opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience leading and growing design teams in a fast-scaling product environment (fintech, consumer tech, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability as an exceptional designer with a portfolio showcasing impactful work.
- Systems-thinking approach, connecting design decisions to user behavior and business results.
- Experience shipping 0-1 products from concept to launch.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging with founders, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Experience building scalable and adopted design systems.
