About the Role
The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the shift Mechanics. You will support and improve maintenance operations by becoming the technical expert on all the production equipment for your site. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, and lead by example.
Responsibilities
- Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Members.
- Be a hands-on leader and work very closely with all operations departments to provide immediate, timely support in order to ensure operational targets are met.
- Train, coach, guide and mentor existing, as well as new shift mechanics.
- Ensure that troubleshooting and repair is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete maintenance related projects as required.
- Insure that Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs are executed as scheduled.
- Recommend additional training for shift mechanics as needed.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Coordinator to ensure supplies of required tools, parts and labor are available for timely repairs.
- Promote and support Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
Requirements
- Licensed Millwright 433A and or Electrician 442A preferred.
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be a demonstrated leader who interacts with others and is adept at leading/motivating a team to meet schedule demands.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities.
- Ability to manage difficult people.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed.
- Experienced with maintenance systems and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Salary/Compensations
- $49.15/hour plus $1 premium for night hours and $2 premium for weekend hours.
