About the Role

The Teaching Artist/Direct Support Professional positions work collaboratively with Starlight artists to support their achievement of artistic, technical, personal, and community engagement goals through inclusive arts programming and individualized support. The Teaching Artist will contribute to facilitating artmaking activities, fostering creative skill development, supporting wellness and community participation, and maintaining an artist-centered studio environment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Fine Arts or equivalent
  • Experience in teaching art and exhibiting artist preferred
  • Proficiency with computers and common software related to your medium - including electronic records, email, word processing, photo editing, and social media tools
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts
  • Three years’ experience in Arts, Education and/or Human Services
  • Experience in exhibiting art
