About the Role
As Roaming Lead, you will own the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of Gigs' Global Roaming product. You will work within the Connectivity team, collaborating with roaming network providers, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to ensure coverage, quality, and pricing remain smooth as Roaming scales. This role offers a clear path to Head of Roaming, including team and P&L ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own Roaming vertical strategy end-to-end, including direction, execution, operational excellence, market insights, and thought leadership.
- Set the strategic direction for Global Roaming and translate it into an actionable operating plan.
- Productize Global Roaming by driving feature development with Product, tightening quality control, and optimizing rate structures with Finance.
- Act as the market expert for Global Roaming, analyzing coverage, quality, cost, and usage data to inform product and partnership roadmaps.
- Manage provider relationships, coverage, and commercial performance, including plan configurations, escalations, and partnership development.
- Enhance the user experience of roaming through relentless focus on feature development, testing, and quality assurance.
- Take ownership of roaming-specific partner and customer escalations, collaborating with Support, Product, and Engineering for resolution.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years in an analytical, operational, or commercial leadership role within tech, consulting, telecom, or a fast-paced startup.
- Proven track record of owning strategy end-to-end.
- Experience owning a P&L or leading a team is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and quickly learning new tools (Notion, Lightdash or Looker, SQL is a plus).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate directly with external providers and internal cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with a willingness to engage in detailed operational tasks.
- Interest in telecom, roaming, or connectivity is a plus, but curiosity and a bias for execution are paramount.
