About the Role

DP World is launching a new Contract Logistics operation in Topoľčany, Slovakia, and is seeking an enthusiastic HSE Technician to establish a strong safety culture. The role involves supporting operations in maintaining compliance with Slovak occupational health and safety legislation and DP World HSE standards, identifying hazards, assessing risks, recommending preventive measures, conducting inspections, delivering training, and managing documentation.

Responsibilities

Monitor changes in Slovak occupational health and safety legislation, including Act No. 124/2006 Coll., the Labour Code, government regulations, and relevant technical standards.
Embed applicable legal requirements into company procedures and support management during inspections by labour authorities and other regulatory bodies.
Identify workplace hazards and prepare, maintain, and review occupational risk assessments following changes to technology, processes, legislation, or working conditions.
Recommend preventive and protective measures to eliminate or minimise identified risks.
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits to assess compliance with legal requirements, internal procedures, and DP World HSE standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk assessments, safe working procedures, emergency procedures, H&S registers, accident records, and training records.
Manage inspection reports, contractor H&S documentation, and legal-compliance records in line with statutory and company requirements.
Organise and deliver mandatory H&S training, including employee and contractor inductions, refresher training, toolbox talks, visitor briefings, and specialised safety programmes.
Support the investigation of occupational accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences through structured root-cause analysis, recommending corrective and preventive actions, monitoring their implementation, and preparing reports required under Slovak legislation.
Support emergency planning, drills, and business-continuity activities from an HSE perspective.
Cooperate with Fire Protection specialists and relevant internal stakeholders to strengthen emergency readiness.

Requirements

Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline, or education meeting Slovak legal requirements for performing the role of Safety Technician.
Certification as a Safety Technician (Bezpečnostný technik) in accordance with Act No. 124/2006 Coll.
Knowledge of Slovak occupational health and safety legislation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
English language proficiency at minimum B2 level.
Possession of a valid Category B driving license.
Qualification as an ISO 45001 Internal Auditor.
Experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or another operational environment.
Knowledge of environmental legislation, Fire Protection, and First Aid principles.
