About the Role
This is a hands-on, entry-level position in the Compost department focused on learning and operating composting facilities, machinery, and equipment. The primary goal is to safely and efficiently process manure into compost, with a secondary responsibility for basic equipment maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Operate and clean composting equipment under direct supervision.
- Assist in safely and efficiently processing manure into compost.
- Assist with keeping equipment in top condition through cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Learn to fix compost machinery.
- Learn the operation of a skid steer and payloader under direct supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong aptitude for operating equipment (Payloader, Skid steer, dump truck).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A high degree of initiative.
- Able to work independently when proficient with job duties.
- Class B Driver's license preferred.
