About the Role
Seeking a Global Head of Credit Model Control in Finance to utilize quantitative techniques and market intuition for analysis of novel or unconventional trades across Credit, Securitized Products, Municipal Securities, and Lending. This Vice President position is within the Model Development Job Family, responsible for maintaining, implementing, developing, and documenting models for business units and Finance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm.
- Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs requiring complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs, and subject matter expertise.
- Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; own risk and contingency plans for the business area.
- Act as a role model and culture carrier, embodying and setting an example of the Firm's values and holding self and team accountable to Firm standards.
- Use quantitative techniques and market intuition to perform analysis on novel or unconventional trades.
- Work with trading, front office quants, and the risk department regularly on marking methodologies and model framework.
- Use financial market and mathematical knowledge to review valuation and risk models while working closely with model developers.
- Analyze pricing factors in complex financial products and comprehend the impact of market movements on the portfolio and firm.
- Manage a team, including allocating and reviewing monthly deliverables and supporting professional development.
- Manage, attract, develop, and retain talent for the team within Finance, creating an inclusive environment and translating Firmwide goals into actionable goals for the department/function.
Requirements
- Advanced understanding of the Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment, including technical skills, risks, and key regulations relevant to the division.
- Strong technical skills.
- Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and acknowledging efforts of and promoting team members.
- Ability to manage risk and its impact on the functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks.
- Strong academics in finance or a quantitative discipline such as financial engineering, mathematics, physics, engineering, or other technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative modeling of financial markets and products.
- Excitement for working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to develop strong internal client relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Experience managing a team.
- Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in a quantitative financial field.
