About the Role
As a working student, you will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of public strategies and measures for climate-friendly shipping and ports in close cooperation with our stakeholders from the maritime industry.
Responsibilities
- Support market, potential, and environmental analyses, and the evaluation of technology options and business models for climate-friendly shipping and ports.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the National Action Plan for Climate-Friendly Shipping and its measures program, as well as individual measure implementations in the context of the National Port Strategy.
- Support tender and awarding procedures, the content-related support of external assignments, and the preparation of documents for our clients.
- Support the technical consulting of our clients in the context of developing regulations and standards for alternative ship propulsion systems and fuels.
- Support the design and implementation of funding measures in the field of climate-friendly shipping and ports.
- Support networking activities in working groups with authorities, industry, science, and/or associations, as well as the communication and public relations of NOW GmbH, for example, in preparing events, working meetings, and workshops.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in natural sciences or engineering (e.g., mechanical and plant engineering, drive technology, naval architecture, transportation, industrial engineering, transport studies), economics, political science, or a related field.
- Previous professional experience through internships or similar roles in industrial or service companies, industry associations, public administration, or scientific institutions.
- Ideally possess knowledge and experience related to the maritime industry (e.g., shipping, shipbuilding, supplier industry, port industry) and a technical understanding of alternative propulsion systems and fuel infrastructures.
- Ideally possess knowledge of funding programs/projects and networking with authorities, industry, science, and/or associations.
- Team-oriented, resilient, reliable, and committed.
- Good English language skills.
- Very good skills in using common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Identify with NOW's strategy for sustainable mobility and actively contribute to its implementation.
