About the Role
This is a newly created position for an experienced PR professional to build and own the media relations function at CUBE, a global RegTech business. You will be the first in-house dedicated PR hire, reporting directly to the CMO, and will be responsible for shaping how CUBE tells its story to the media in the UK, Europe, and key international markets including the US. You will work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy, manage day-to-day press activity, and act as the primary point of contact for journalists covering financial technology, regulation, and banking. You will also brief and manage specialist PR agency partners for specific campaign moments.
Responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong, direct relationships with key journalists across target publications.
- Proactively identify and create media opportunities, including funding and product announcements, thought leadership, data stories, and regulatory moments.
- Serve as the primary media contact for CUBE, managing all inbound press inquiries and coordinating responses.
- Brief, manage, and hold accountable a specialist US PR agency for campaign-based activity around key milestones.
- Partner with the executive team to develop messaging, prepare spokespeople for media interviews, and support leadership profiling.
- Draft and edit press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and reactive statements.
- Monitor the media landscape and regulatory news agenda to identify opportunities and flag reputational risks.
- Track and report on media coverage, maintaining a clear view of share of voice and coverage quality.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and the executive team to align PR activity with broader business priorities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of PR experience, with significant time spent in financial services, fintech, or regtech (in-house or at a specialist agency).
- Deep understanding of the financial and banking media landscape, with established relationships at key publications in the UK and ideally the US.
- Proven track record of securing high-quality, earned media coverage in tier-one financial and business press.
- Strong writing skills, capable of drafting compelling pitches, clean press releases, and crisp briefing documents.
- Experience managing or briefing external PR agencies and holding them accountable to outcomes.
