About the Role
The Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team is central to Finance, collaborating with senior leaders to provide financial insights, reporting, and challenge. As a Manager in this team, you will manage a portfolio of Business Units, serving as a financial advisor to senior stakeholders. This role offers high visibility, direct exposure to leadership, and the chance to influence how finance supports the business.
Responsibilities
- Partner with and develop strong relationships with key senior stakeholders in assigned Business Units and across Finance, engaging directly with ExCo-level leaders to provide financial insight and challenge.
- Deliver monthly Direct Contribution reporting to Investment Management teams, covering revenue, AUM, margins, seed capital, and associated costs, offering insights and commentary for performance oversight and decision-making.
- Lead monthly meetings with business managers to review financials, provide constructive challenge, and understand BU operations and cost drivers.
- Provide timely, relevant, and informative management information and analysis to assigned BUs, including commentary and variance analysis.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned Business Units, coordinating inputs, challenging assumptions, and delivering consolidated outputs to the CFO.
- Drive the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated and BU-level management information, including monthly cost accrual postings and ledger review.
- Support monthly cost analysis and commentary for the Group Reporting Team and CFO.
- Support the year-end close process, liaising with Group Reporting and external audit teams to provide management accounts analysis and commentary.
- Perform ad hoc analysis for the business as required.
- Drive strategic and operational improvements within the FBP function, including initiatives to enhance management information quality, automate reporting, leverage AI tools, and develop finance systems and tooling like Power BI.
- Manage and develop direct reports, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, supporting career development, prioritizing workload, and contributing to recruitment and onboarding.
- Provide cover and support to the Head of Finance Business Partnering as needed.
Requirements
- Qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a finance business partnering or FP&A role.
- Prior experience in asset management or financial services strongly preferred.
- Ability to develop trusted relationships at all levels with business and finance stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, with a desire and ability to learn new systems.
- Familiarity with ERP or financial planning systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Adaptive).
