About the Role

At Insignia Financial, risk management involves understanding information to help leaders make better decisions. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Risk Governance & Reporting to interpret reporting, connect information, and communicate insights to senior leaders, focusing on storytelling, governance, and oversight within the 1st Line Risk & Resilience team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and uplift of risk reporting and insights across operational risk and resilience.
  • Turn data and reporting into a compelling risk story, providing context, commentary, and insights for leaders.
  • Use business and organisational knowledge to challenge, interpret, and connect information across risk profiles, incidents, issues, controls, obligations, and critical operations.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of 1st Line risk reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and insightfulness.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and quality oversight to team members for consistent reporting outputs.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality risk and compliance insights, including senior-level commentary and Board-ready papers.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve reporting processes for greater insight generation.
  • Act as the 1st Line Risk & Compliance lead for the Atlas risk and compliance platform, focusing on reporting functionality and enhancements.
  • Develop and oversee risk team calendars and plans to coordinate governance deliverables, risk reviews, control testing, and reporting commitments.
  • Champion continuous improvement by reviewing processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality of risk information.
  • Provide risk expertise to strategic initiatives, projects, regulatory change, and transformation activities, including supporting risk assessments.
  • Support internal and external reviews, assurance activities, and audits.
  • Contribute to and chair risk forums, working groups, and committees, overseeing secretariat commitments.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in risk and/or compliance, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong experience interpreting risk reporting, data, and insights to identify trends, themes, and emerging issues.
  • Strong understanding of risk and compliance management concepts, frameworks, and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect the dots across complex business environments and provide meaningful risk commentary and insights.
  • Strong business acumen and organisational awareness, with the confidence to understand data context and challenge appropriately.
  • Experience overseeing or coordinating reporting deliverables and guiding team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise narratives for senior executives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve ways of working.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a large, complex, and constantly evolving environment.
  • Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Must undertake police and basic credit checks as a condition of employment.
