About the Role
The Information Security Engineer is responsible for the overall Cyber security stance of Torrens institutions, with a strong appreciation and demonstrated expertise in IT Security, including continuous assessment and improvement of security posture.
Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and remediate threats in collaboration with the security department, other IT departments, and business stakeholders.
- Assist in designing, building, operating, and monitoring security infrastructure, platforms, applications, and tools.
- Mitigate or remediate vulnerabilities and manage technology risks across the enterprise with technical managers, software development, and IT operations staff.
- Conduct vendor security assessments for new vendors in a timely manner.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to potential security threats identified by Torrens security systems.
- Enter information into ticketing systems to track threats, assignments, and remediation actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of combined hands-on experience in analysis and security engineering, research, and/or consulting.
- 5+ years of networking background; preferred experience with Cisco technologies.
- Experience understanding and determining vulnerabilities via industry-standard tools.
- Experience monitoring and assessing security threats.
- Responsible for remediation or analysis for identified security incidents.
- Understanding of enterprise, network, system/endpoint, and application-level security issues and risks.
