About the Role
Trust is the foundation of Mercor's marketplace. This role owns the fraud detection and enforcement product and policies end-to-end, including the multi-agent system that scores risk, the signals that feed it, and the enforcement actions. You will also own the operational edge of trust and safety, designing reviewer workflows, developing governing policies, and closing the loop between production catches and future development. This is a technical, customer-facing role for individuals energized by ambiguous problems, who care about both systems and the humans operating them, and who want to own a product area with high stakes and impact.
Responsibilities
- Connect Trust and Safety decisions to Mercor's long-term health, expert trust, and client trust, and use this to prioritize business outcomes.
- Own the Trust and Safety product end-to-end, setting the roadmap and managing the lifecycle from signal detection to enforcement action.
- Improve detection quality by tuning models, prompts, and signals with data science and engineering, reducing false positives while maintaining accuracy on false negatives.
- Expand automated decisioning as accuracy improves.
- Design products and workflows for operations analysts, focusing on clear action orientation, evidence bars, and audit trails for high-severity calls.
- Write specs and PRDs, build dashboards, pull SQL, and make small PRs to unblock yourself and validate direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Product Management, Product Operations, Technical Program Management, Trust & Safety, Risk, Fraud, or a similar technical, operationally-minded role.
- Prior exposure to safety or integrity problems is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with large datasets, AI agents, and unblocking/accelerating engineering.
- Able to reason about detection models and signals and hold technical conversations with engineers and data scientists.
- Passion for building repeatable systems and fixing problems that span multiple systems.
- Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills.
- Thrive in ambiguous, adversarial environments and take ownership from problem definition through execution.
- High accountability for outcomes, not just outputs.
- Comfortable weighing the cost of a false positive against a missed fraud case, and making tradeoffs explicit and consistent.
