About the Role

This senior leadership role is critical in strengthening the procurement function by establishing effective governance, policies, systems, and reporting frameworks that enable consistent and high-quality procurement outcomes. It focuses on improving the way procurement services are delivered by fostering a customer-focused culture, enhancing processes, and ensuring teams have the tools, knowledge, and capability required to support the organisation. The role leads procurement capability development by designing and delivering training initiatives, building internal expertise, and supporting the ongoing growth of procurement skills across the Department.

Responsibilities

Strengthen the procurement function by establishing effective governance, policies, systems, and reporting frameworks.
Improve procurement service delivery by fostering a customer-focused culture and enhancing processes.
Ensure teams have the necessary tools, knowledge, and capability to support the organisation.
Lead procurement capability development through training initiatives and building internal expertise.
Support the ongoing growth of procurement skills across the Department.

Requirements

Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex and diverse team.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG.
Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number.

$223,936 - $249,630 per annum
