About the Role
The Vehicle Damage Assessor role at Solus focuses on technical accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment to ensure safe, efficient, and fair vehicle repairs. As part of an insurer group, VDAs have broader authority to make informed decisions supporting technicians, customers, and repair quality.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage accurately according to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Prepare clear repair methods and estimates using recognized estimating systems.
- Identify additional damage and manage supplements fairly and consistently.
- Collaborate with Panel, MET, Paint, and production teams to ensure smooth repair flow.
- Promote best practices, quality, and compliance on-site.
Requirements
- Relevant VDA or technical experience.
- Structured, quality-first approach.
- Experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor in an accident repair environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and recognized qualifications (e.g., ATA or IMI-aligned competence).
- Confidence in assessing modern vehicle construction and repair methods.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in decision-making.
- Deep technical understanding from other automotive roles is also considered for progression.
