About the Role
KPMG Global Compliance and Transformation has an exciting opportunity for Technical Consultants (Intern/Co-op) to join our team in Winter 2027 or Summer 2027. This role is located at KPMG's Toronto Bay-Adelaide office. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with businesses to help them design and implement their target operating model, leveraging advanced tax automation and tax data technologies to help clients navigate their tax transformation journey.
Responsibilities
- Apply business/accounting/finance acumen to solve client problems, apply technology skills to build solutions for clients, and assist with tax consulting deliverables.
- Assist with day-to-day delivery of tax transformation projects for clients and supporting client deliverables using a variety of technologies and tools.
- Support development of custom solutions and ongoing product development.
- Assist on client initiatives to identify opportunities to improve existing tax operating models including designing processes, and implementing tax technology.
- Work with managers to understand client(s) existing processes and propose new solutions.
- Participate in collaboration/design sessions with the business, clients, and the team.
Requirements
- Currently completing a degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, Engineering or similar, with strong technology skills, or a degree in Computer Science or similar, with strong consulting skills.
- A keen interest in finance, accounting, tax, or similar business disciplines.
- A keen interest in innovation and process improvement.
- Experience developing technology solutions using Excel/VBA.
- Enjoys problem solving using business acumen and technological solutions.
- Willingly takes on and learns new skills.
- Excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a Team First Mentality.
- Able to interact with co-workers, management, and clients alike in a manner that is respectful and understanding.
