About the Role

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Rochester, NY. Our professionals oversee project construction from pre-construction through finalization, ensuring cost and schedule containment. We work on diverse projects including heavy highway, bridges, marine improvements, and vertical construction, while fostering positive community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction inspection of bridge and/or highway projects, including quantity measurement and calculation.
  • Document work through daily reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
  • Ensure work complies with NYSDOT specifications.
  • Apply project plans, company policies, guidelines, and standards to the work.
  • Make decisions based on project requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with all project levels.
  • Coordinate project site activities and resolve work-related issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Strong mathematics skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.

Experience Level

  • Prior construction engineering/inspection experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience with federally-aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
  • Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or municipal clients; technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred.

Education Level

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • NICET II certification preferred.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $29.00 to $38.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
