About the Role

The Practice Capability Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening practice quality and capability across SSI. This role sits within SSI’s Practice Quality and Assurance function, responsible for defining good practice, supporting teams, and continuous improvement. The role involves leading the development of practical companion guides and designing tiered learning pathways to help staff build confidence and capability in applying practice standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the authorship of SSI’s companion guide suite, ensuring practice standards are translated into clear and practical guidance.
  • Design tiered learning pathways for each guide, including e-modules, workshops, induction content and integration with existing learning programs.
  • Facilitate practice learning and deliver train-the-trainer programs to build capability across SSI’s practice specialist network.
  • Convene and support a community of practice that enables shared learning, consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of current evidence, practice developments and emerging approaches across relevant human services areas.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including clinical leadership, program teams, Learning and Development, subject matter experts and frontline staff.
  • Contribute to the annual review of SSI’s Practice Framework, ensuring learning and practice insights inform future updates.

Requirements

  • A bachelor-level qualification in social work, psychology or an allied health discipline.
  • Strong writing and content authoring skills, with the ability to produce clear practice guidance for varied audiences.
  • Experience designing and delivering learning, capability-building or blended learning programs.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to support train-the-trainer approaches.
  • Sound understanding of adult learning principles and learning platforms such as Go1.
  • Strong consultation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • An ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and coordinate input from multiple stakeholders.
  • An interest in evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.
  • A qualification in adult education, learning and development or instructional design would be highly regarded.
  • National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check.
  • Hold a Blue Card if supporting Queensland child-related work.
