About the Role
SRL Total Source, LLC is seeking a Certified Hearing Conservation Technician to support the Hearing Conservation CAOHC Program at Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH), West Point, New York. This role provides essential hearing conservation services that directly support soldier readiness, force health protection, and Department of Defense (DoD) occupational health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform hearing conservation testing.
- Provide hearing protection services.
- Conduct patient education.
- Provide administrative support.
- Ensure compliance with all DoD, Army, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct computerized and manual audiometric testing using DOEHRS-HC.
- Perform hearing examinations supporting annual monitoring, flight physicals, deployment/redeployment processing, and readiness evaluations.
- Ensure all hearing examinations are completed accurately and documented in accordance with Army regulations.
- Fit Army-approved hearing protection devices and provide individualized instruction.
- Perform hearing protection fit-check assessments.
- Conduct hearing aid electroacoustic measurements and verification assessments.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with hearing aid candidacy evaluations, fittings, and patient counseling.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with tinnitus assessment and management.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with auditory processing evaluations.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with rehabilitation counseling and training.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with fitness-for-duty examinations.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with pure-tone and speech audiometry.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with acoustic immittance and acoustic reflex testing.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
- Assist the supervising audiologist with speech-in-noise evaluations.
- Prepare the audiology clinic daily.
- Verify equipment readiness.
- Review the day's patient schedule.
- Collaborate with audiologists, occupational health personnel, and military leadership.
- Reconcile documentation daily.
- Prepare equipment for the next clinic.
- Ensure all follow-up actions have been completed.
Requirements
- Current Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of experience performing occupational hearing conservation testing or audiometric testing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required background investigations and installation access credentials.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
