About the Role
This role is crucial for ensuring high-end residential projects are accurately priced. You will oversee and lead the estimating function, manage the current estimator, and collaborate with the team to deliver precise, timely quotes. Your expertise will help secure new business, ensure smooth project handovers, and maintain the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating function across all residential projects
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for formwork, concrete placing, and steel fixing
- Use take-off and estimation software to quantify materials and labour
- Review architectural and structural drawings to determine scope
- Develop budgets aligned with client needs and business goals
- Manage and oversee the quoting process
- Collaborate with project managers and builders for accurate scope definition
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for pricing and delivery
- Track market trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure competitive pricing
- Support process improvement across estimating and pre-construction
- Represent the company professionally with all stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience specifically in formwork estimation and take-offs is essential
- Proficient in take-off software, estimation software, and Microsoft Office
- Experience using Procore is highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience leading and mentoring others
- Ability to manage and oversee the entire quoting process
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
