About the Role
You will be the first point of contact for IT issues across the company, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. You will also manage the IT aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and secure handling of departures. This role involves independent work, managing requests via a ticketing system, and escalating issues beyond your scope.
Responsibilities
- User onboarding and offboarding: Set up new user accounts, access permissions, and hardware/software configurations; conduct IT orientation for new employees; ensure timely deactivation of accounts, retrieval of hardware, and removal of access upon employee departure.
- Technical support: Provide first-level support via phone, email, and in person; troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues on Windows platforms; install, configure, and maintain laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Systems and tools: Manage user accounts in Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems; track and resolve requests through the SupportBench ticketing system; assist with updates, patch management, and routine maintenance.
- Documentation and inventory: Maintain accurate hardware inventory and software license records, coordinate equipment shipments, and document procedures, FAQs, and user guides.
- Security and compliance: Follow IT security protocols and data protection standards, report potential risks or vulnerabilities, and support audits and access reviews.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience providing IT support and/or related schooling.
- Confidence working with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to support desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Customer orientation: put yourself in our users' shoes and take the time to understand their needs.
- A passion for analysis and problem solving: dig in until you fully understand the problem and can identify the right fix.
- Strong communication: proactively surface issues, ideas, and concerns, and believe feedback makes us all better.
