About the Role
Provide full-time environmental health and safety support to the business, ensuring compliance with company and UK regulatory requirements. Support the development and coordination of ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety management systems.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level.
- Advise line management of health, safety and environmental matters.
- Responsible for assisting in the identification of environmental aspects and safety hazards, risk assessments and developing and implementing effective control measures.
- Facilitate all forms of risk assessment.
- Maintain and update SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment.
- Facilitate training on Environmental, Health and Safety topics and improvement processes.
- Provide advice, assist, and audit the operations to ensure effective EHS implementation.
- Develop an EHS Communication Strategy for all levels of staff.
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
- Coordinate with the site and corporate leadership on EHS related activities.
- Maintain all records and documentation associated with the EHS Management System and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with maintaining the Business Continuity and Emergency Response Plans & Procedures.
- Review accidents and incidents, manage internal audits, reporting and corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys.
- Produce and coordinate the yearly EHS action plan and longer-term EHS roadmap.
- Monitors the Site ‘permit-to-work’ and ‘control of contractors’ systems to ensure compliance.
- Travel domestically and/or internationally as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
