About the Role
We are seeking a technically proficient, data-driven accounting professional to design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions and data query processes. This individual will play a key role in enhancing financial reporting capabilities, improving data accessibility, and supporting informed business decision-making through accurate and efficient reporting.
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and test accounting reports for property accounting, corporate accounting, joint venture accounting, and company-wide distribution.
- Create and validate ad hoc queries for management.
- Partner with business stakeholders and project work streams to incorporate accounting and process changes into technical solutions.
- Maintain governance over the chart of accounts, income categories, account groups, and financial formats.
- Create and maintain financial reports for quarterly board books and supplements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, improve reporting, decrease process times, streamline workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
- Partner with the Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT) to identify business challenges, prioritize system-driven solutions and enhancements, and improve business processes or controllership.
- Investigate areas for improvement through the use of artificial intelligence.
- Partner with the OIT team to document business requirements, manage and support system testing of new upgrades, structure rebuilds, hot patches, and releases, and participate in user acceptance testing.
- Proactively identify and implement further automation opportunities in partnership with the OIT team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of related experience preferred.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with SQL and database management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and other financial reporting tools.
- Expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- $100,000 - $120,000
