About the Role
Cogent is seeking an Operations Associate to manage daily operations, including people operations, workplace operations, events, and special projects. This role provides broad exposure to company building and offers opportunities for long-term leadership growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage office logistics across San Francisco and New York locations, including supplies, landlord relationships, company swag, and off-site planning.
- Oversee recruiting coordination and onboarding processes from start to finish, including scheduling, offer logistics, and new hire ramp-up.
- Handle legal and immigration coordination and manage the Cogent Founder Academy.
- Develop and execute events to build the Cogent brand, managing concept, logistics, and invitations.
- Build a recurring events calendar and cadence for the company.
- Partner with founders and the Head of Bizops on strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably at a startup.
- Background in an ambiguous, cross-functional role such as people operations, workplace operations, office management, or events management.
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, drive work independently, and unblock oneself.
- Possess good taste and a clear perspective on creating positive office, off-site, and onboarding experiences.
- Comfortable managing diverse tasks across different domains with attention to detail.
- Thrives in a fast-moving, high-intensity environment.
- Utilizes AI tools as a primary method for problem-solving and automation.
- Excellent written communication skills, characterized by clarity, simplicity, and audience calibration.
- Experience handling sensitive employee information with accuracy and discretion.
