About the Role
The General Manager is responsible for growing total sales and services, achieving sales and operational goals, and driving the overall customer experience and sales service culture. This role owns associate training and development, talent assessment, and succession planning, while also leading, motivating, and inspiring associates to create a customer-first environment. The General Manager also oversees hiring, merchandising, operations, and resolves associate and customer concerns.
Responsibilities
- Growing total sales and services within the location.
- Achieving results for Sales, Services, Operations Profit, and Customer/Community relationships.
- Driving the overall customer experience and sales service culture.
- Managing sales performance and identifying sales opportunities.
- Developing overall store strategies and tactics to achieve sales results and operational goals.
- Increasing conversion rates and driving customer traffic into stores.
- Ensuring maximum sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives.
- Owning associate training and development, talent assessment, identifying and developing top talent, and succession planning.
- Providing positive and constructive feedback, and appropriate coaching and counseling.
- Leading, motivating, and inspiring associates to create a customer/client first environment.
- Building strong client relationships, improving customer retention, and increasing brand awareness and loyalty through community engagement and SMB events.
- Overseeing hiring, merchandising, operations, and execution of store and company standards.
- Resolving associate and customer relations’ concerns.
- Partnering with respective business partners on a timely basis.
- Managing performance of all associates.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
- Initiating and supporting company changes as a Change Champion.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of management experience, or equivalent skills gained through an internal development program.
- Strong business acumen and sound judgment with proven people-management abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, coach, and positively influence at all levels.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-changing, often ambiguous environment.
- Proficient with computers, job-related technology, and POS systems for accessing and processing information and merchandise.
