About the Role

This role assists a team of consulting economists in helping multinational companies correctly price inter-entity transactions. The position involves examining economic conditions, industry trends, evaluating client intercompany transactions, and consulting on prices between related parties to ensure compliance with foreign and domestic tax regulations. It requires strong analytical, writing, and editing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client interviews to gather information on factors influencing inter-company transaction pricing, including corporate structure, functional responsibilities, risk distribution, value drivers, industry overview, and historical context.
  • Analyze industry and financial data to benchmark or document intercompany pricing policies.
  • Perform financial analysis, including market penetration scenarios and intangible property valuation.
  • Prepare project reports detailing approach, research, quantitative analysis, and results for client compliance and consulting advice.
  • Prepare client presentations on analysis results and recommendations.
  • Write industry overviews to provide context for a company's operating environment.
  • Write descriptive functional analyses for transfer pricing reports and documents.
  • Organize and summarize client-provided information.
  • Take interview notes and prepare detailed summaries for team members.
  • Proofread and edit reports before client delivery.
  • Write technical memos describing the analytical process.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external presentations, research, and training materials.
  • Participate in practice improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional research and writing skills.
  • Skilled in detailed reading, proofing, and editing highly technical and descriptive material.
  • Able to independently produce initial drafts of written project deliverables.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and experience with presentations or public speaking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in small and large groups.
  • Able to communicate directly with clients professionally and confidently.
  • Strong analytical and basic research skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, with an ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
  • Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to research taxation topics and communicate or compose written analysis effectively.
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing and the desire to learn more about the industry.

Experience Level

  • California Range: $85,000 - $120,000
  • Colorado Range: $78,000 - $120,000
  • Illinois Range: $80,000 - $100,000
  • Maryland Range: $85,000 - $100,000
  • Massachusetts Range: $85,000 - $120,000
  • Minnesota Range: $72,000 - $100,000
  • New Jersey Range: $80,000 - $100,000
  • NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $120,000
  • Ohio Range: $71,000 - $75,000
  • Virginia Range: $83,000 - $87,000
  • Washington Range: $78,000 - $120,000
  • Washington DC Range: $85,000 - $100,000
