About the Role

In this position, you’ll practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally appropriate and age-appropriate care for children. You’ll also be involved in education, consultation, research, and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes knowledge and skills daily to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data, and to manage a caseload of patients.
• Collaborates effectively with other members of the healthcare disciplines to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Utilizes effective and appropriate interviewing skills to elicit information from patient and/or family and collaborates with them in the development of the plan of care.
• Identifies and documents patient/family learning needs, readiness to learn, and level of understanding, incorporating family culture and belief systems on all patients.
• Communicates research findings to other healthcare professionals and integrates findings into clinical practice.
• Maintains current professional, managerial, and/or technical knowledge and skills through literature and attending development and continuing education programs annually.
• Practices independently or interdependently in the PA role.
• Undergoes respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements

• PA – Certified Physician Assistant by Texas Medical Board required
