About the Role
We're undertaking an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company with an existing audience of over 100 million people. This is a ground-up build without legacy constraints, focused on establishing quality and reliability practices from the start, leveraging AI tools for enhanced speed and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test suites across mobile and backend surfaces, focusing on coverage, reliability, and speed.
- Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring tests run on every commit and block faulty code from reaching production.
- Monitor production systems for anomalies, contribute to incident response, and implement root-cause fixes.
- Collaborate with engineers to embed quality thinking throughout the development process, not just at the release gate.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test infrastructure for consumer-facing mobile or web products.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, Appium, Espresso, XCTest, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with at least one observability or monitoring tool.
- Experience using AI tools daily for test writing, failure diagnosis, and improving speed.
- Demonstrated care for post-release system behavior, including monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, clearly communicate quality risks, and support confident team releases.
- Bonus points for experience with AI-assisted QA tools.
- Bonus points for experience with mobile app testing at consumer scale.
- Bonus points for familiarity with SLO and error-budget concepts.
