About the Role

The Driver (Meals) is responsible for the loading, transportation, and delivery of all food and non-food supplies for OLDS Nutrition Programming, operating under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Program Transportation Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Drives meals to individual clients and bulk meals to other community sites.
  • Adheres strictly to safe driving practices and follows accident reporting procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, and Department of Public Health standards.
  • Assists the kitchen in food packaging when necessary.
  • Ensures specified food and non-food items are loaded and delivered accurately and on time according to established policies.
  • Observes delivery procedures and maintains acceptable food temperatures during delivery.
  • Adheres to donation box policies and procedures for congregate and HDM programs.
  • Reports any changes in HDM clients' health or living situations to the Social Services Coordinator immediately.
  • Participates in daily cleaning schedules and observes public health standards.
  • Maintains cleanliness of Nutrition Program vehicles, completes daily checklists, and reports issues promptly.
  • Reports any accidental vehicle damage immediately.
  • Delivers reports and correspondence between nutrition meal sites and the Central Kitchen.
  • Attends nutrition department meetings.
  • Maintains current training and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
  • Ability to read maps
  • Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
