About the Role
Roman Empire Logistics is seeking enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals to deliver packages as a Non-CDL Delivery Driver. This role is crucial for representing the company, ensuring order fulfillment, prioritizing safety, and providing excellent customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Drive a delivery van to drop off packages to customers within the operating community.
- Follow strict safety standards, on and off the road.
- Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner.
- Use handheld technology to deliver packages, manage delivery progress, and solve obstacles.
- Load, sort, and prepare a delivery route to meet customer promise.
- Inspect the company vehicle a minimum of twice daily to ensure safe operation.
- Ensure the delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition at all times.
- Assist other Delivery Team Members in completing deliveries.
- Communicate with customers by phone or text to alert them of delivery arrival.
- Maintain communication with management regarding any changes to delivery, route, or schedule.
- Inform management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.
- Manage the daily work plan.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
- Conduct daily end-of-route de-brief and return minimal undeliverable parcels.
- Prioritize safety at all times.
- Track and report working hours.
- Adhere to company rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment.
- Must be able to operate and navigate a delivery van, GVWR 10,000 lbs. or less.
- Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts up to 12 hours long.
- Must have good vision, with or without reasonable accommodation, to see details at a distance and up close.
- Capacity to frequently shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information for up to 12 hours per day.
- Capability to quickly respond to changing traffic and weather conditions.
- Must be able to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move boxes up to 70 pounds each, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle.
