About the Role
Longhorn Village is a not-for-profit retirement community dedicated to providing independent living and a full continuum of care. We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Certified Dietary Manager. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents.
Responsibilities
- Transport residents in a safe and responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities.
- Assist residents on and off transportation vehicles, including helping with residents’ assistive devices.
- Monitor and assist residents when away from the facility.
- Keep driver’s license and commercial driver’s license (CDL) updated and remain eligible for licensing in accordance with state/federal regulations, if applicable.
- Responsible for the maintenance of community vehicles.
- Report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and/or incidents.
- Maintain necessary travel logs and transportation charges.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily maintenance log.
- Report any unsanitary conditions or needed repairs of vehicles to supervisor.
- Assist with activities as time permits and as needed.
- Attend meetings and training as needed.
- Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Must have a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (CDL).
