About the Role

The Accounting Associate is responsible for managing a portfolio of small businesses whose bookkeeping they own. They are an integral piece of a team that’s helping great customers get an even better experience.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the trusted advisor and accounting department for Wave’s small business clients.
• Owning bookkeeping accounts for clients within their portfolio to meet individual and team revenue targets.
• Supporting clients by using Wave’s software to import and categorize transactions, reconcile accounts, complete monthly bookkeeping, generate financial statements, and flag potential bookkeeping issues.
• Using judgment to set and meet or exceed client expectations.
• Meeting with clients on recurring virtual calls to review their books.
• Clearly conveying accounting concepts in lay terms and answering bookkeeping questions.
• Providing exceptional customer service and building trusting relationships through accounting expertise and timely email responses.
• Collaborating with peers and supporting team members by sharing experiences.

Requirements

• Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• 0-2 years of general work experience.
• Previous experience in cloud accounting.
• Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Stellar communication skills with the ability to convey accounting concepts in lay terms.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Resourcefulness.
• Previous working experience with small businesses is a plus.

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business

Salary/Compensations

• $51,000 - $51,000 a year
