About the Role
The Texas Democratic Party is seeking GOTV Organizers to mobilize voters across Texas during a critical campaign period. Organizers will build and lead volunteer and voter contact infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience with campaign systems and contributing to lasting infrastructure to support the party's goals. This position runs from the week of August 24 to November 15, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead 2+ voter contact events each week, including canvasses and phone banks.
- Recruit new volunteers, collaborate with existing supporters, and support teams in hitting voter contact goals.
- Identify, develop, and support volunteer leaders in building their own teams.
- Serve as a primary voice of the campaign to activists, supporters, volunteers, and voters.
- Ensure voter contact activities are created and uploaded in Mobilize, accurately reflected in VAN, and appropriately tracked.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry across voter contact events.
- Identify, secure, and confirm staging locations for GOTV efforts.
- Take responsibility for the successful operation of assigned staging locations and volunteer teams during GOTV.
- Provide regular, accurate reporting on voter contact, volunteer recruitment, staging-location readiness, and program performance.
- Develop personal organizing skills and share ideas with the team.
Requirements
- Commitment to the Texas Democrats mission and organizational values, goals, and objectives.
- Task and time management skills.
- Experience planning, setting up, and staffing events.
- Volunteer management or team-building acumen.
- Access to a reliable car and driver's license.
- Access to a phone and laptop computer.
- Attention to detail when reviewing documents, organizing personal workspace, and coordinating with volunteers.
- Strong mastery of computer systems like Google Suite, Excel, and online databases.
- Experience working or volunteering on electoral, union, or community organizing campaigns is a plus.
- Familiarity with Votebuilder, Mobilize, Google suite, and other campaign tools is a plus.
