About the Role

This is a dynamic, high-impact role for a finance professional who thrives on variety, partnering directly with the CFO. The role involves owning budgeting and forecasting, acting as a Sage system expert, and leading strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Annual Budgeting Process, coordinating with department heads.
  • Maintain and optimize forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor monthly and quarterly performance against budget and conduct variance analyses.
  • Build financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, capital expenditures, and ROI.
  • Partner with the Financial Controller for external compliance reporting.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Sage.
  • Review, streamline, and automate financial workflows and reporting structures within Sage.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Sage and auxiliary operational systems.
  • Lead high-priority projects assigned by the CFO, such as system migrations or M&A support.
  • Partner with department leads to provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency.
  • Act as a key driver of change, implementing new financial policies, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or senior accounting roles.
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Sage, including configuring reports, troubleshooting, and optimizing the platform.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and data manipulation skills in Excel.
  • Corporate tax experience or strong foundational knowledge of corporate tax compliance and planning is a significant asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated interest or hands-on experience in utilizing AI technologies and advanced automation to modernize financial processes.
