About the Role

Cogent Scientific is seeking a Pharma In Vivo Biologist to support the life sciences industry by cultivating and empowering exceptional scientists to deliver specialized laboratory services that advance research, foster collaboration, and accelerate innovation through quality and a shared commitment to excellence. This role offers the chance to build on your skills and knowledge while working among experts and with cutting-edge instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Design and execute in vivo studies with pre-clinical discovery and translational biology teams.
Interact and collaborate with various discovery technologies functional teams to develop and implement novel in vivo models.
Prepare drug solutions and inoculations, multiple routes of drug administration (e.g. subcutaneous, tail vein, intraperitoneal, and retro-orbital injection and oral gavage).
Perform tumor cell implantation and tumor measurement using a caliper.
Harvest blood, tumor, bone marrow, spleen and other tissue samples from mice to help establish PK/PD and toxicity measurements, flow cytometry analysis and histology.
Culture tumor cells according to SOPs and contribute to the development of SOPs.

Requirements

BS - Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related field with 5 years of related lab experience or MS with 2-3 years of related lab experience required.
Extensive expertise in in vivo pharmacology skills preferably in oncology.
Experience in IVIS imaging is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Graphpad Prism is preferred.
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
Works well both as a team and as an individual.
Demonstration of excellent team player skills, very strong attention to detail, very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.
