About the Role
Families Now is an intensive family preservation program serving families in Ulster County. Counselors utilize a strengths-based and solution-focused model to inspire dynamic change and hope within families.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive services delivered at the point of crisis and continuously reassess for safety.
- Practice solution-focused and skills-based interventions based on strengths and needs.
- Provide concrete services for meeting basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.
- Procure pertinent wrap-around services and provide information and referrals to community resources.
- Conduct in-person home visits 3-5 days per week using personal vehicles for all visits and client transport.
- Maintain daily progress notes, write Family Assessment Service Plans, termination summaries, and case reviews.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision and staff meetings.
- Educate families in areas such as child development, parent training, anger management, behavioral management, communication, and structure.
- Collaborate with the local Department of Social Services regarding treatment protocol and recommendations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of in-field social work/counseling experience.
- Experience working with clients in their homes.
- Experience working with DSS clients is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.

- Weekend crisis coverage rotation

Salary/Compensations
- Annual salary begins at $60,000
