About the Role
Chime is seeking a Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for Transaction Risk Decisioning. This role involves building decisioning systems and product experiences to evaluate transaction risk in real-time, partnering with various teams to reduce fraud, improve approval rates, and enhance member recovery experiences. The position is critical at the intersection of risk, growth, trust, and product quality, protecting revenue while enabling healthy growth.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategy to reduce transaction declines and increase purchase volume authorization rates.
- Launch new controls for emerging fraud patterns.
- Redesign risky decline flows for better member recovery.
- Work cross-functionally to improve the quality of risk signals.
- Partner with member support teams to make risk outcomes understandable.
- Help launch new financial products safely by designing safeguards and monitoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager.
- Deep expertise in payments risk, including card network operations, transaction rules, dispute frameworks, and decline codes.
- Proven ability to think strategically about purchase volume and authorization rates, connecting decisioning logic to revenue outcomes.
- Track record of bringing thought leadership to ambiguous problems and shaping product roadmaps.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to translate complex challenges into clear strategy and execution.
- Experience operating in systems with significant policy, operational, and data dependencies.
- Ability to engage fluently across member journeys, policy behavior, experiment design, and platform capabilities.
- Strong customer empathy and a track record of turning user insights into product decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and experience applying machine learning and AI methodologies.
- Deep curiosity and a strong sense of ownership.
- Experience working in a fast-growing, cross-functional environment.

- San Francisco, CA: $183,000 - $205,000
- Chicago, IL: $165,000 - $185,000
