About the Role
Green & Cohen PC is seeking a skilled Real Estate/Landlord & Tenant Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in New York, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse caseload in one of the most active real estate markets in the world. Responsibilities
- Represent landlords and/or tenants in Housing Court proceedings, including eviction and non-payment cases
- Draft, review, and negotiate leases, purchase agreements, and other real estate contracts
- Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing
- Advise clients on landlord-tenant disputes, rent stabilization, and rent control matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, motions, and pleadings
- Manage a caseload independently while maintaining clear client communication
- Stay current on New York real estate law, housing regulations, and court procedures
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active New York State Bar admission in good standing
- Familiarity with New York City Housing Court procedures and practices
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Skills
- 1–5 years of experience in real estate law, landlord-tenant law, or related practice area
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
