About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Developer Experience team. This role involves setting the technical vision, nurturing team culture, and focusing on the ZeroKit prototyping vertical and the iOS/Android monorepo infrastructure pillars. You will partner with engineers and stakeholders to enhance platform speed, reliability, and efficiency, while also anticipating future needs and supporting international engineering efforts across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo brands. This is an opportunity to lead greenfield initiatives and refine existing tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain foundational components to enable DoorDash Engineers to excel at mobile engineering.
- Lead the development and strategy for ZeroKit to enable rapid mobile prototyping via agents.
- Manage and optimize key horizontal infrastructure pillars, specifically the iOS and Android monorepos.
- Champion data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the team.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to drive long-term architectural direction and influence company-wide strategy.
- Guide the team through ambiguity, leveraging industry best practices while also knowing when to break the mold.
- Communicate with clarity, whether explaining a trade-off to execs or mapping technical strategy across teams.
- Drive alignment across teams and disciplines, leading high-impact cross-functional initiatives.
- Build, sustain, and grow a diverse team to address the growing needs of the organization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software development, and expert proficiency in either Android development or iOS development.
- 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- A strong bias for action, pragmatic problem-solving, and deep technical expertise.
- Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable impact.
- Intellectual curiosity to dive deep into the lowest level of detail and know when it is necessary to do so.
- A deep understanding of how to build quality software and know how to balance this with delivering value to your customers.
