About the Role
As a Project Manager, your primary duties will be overseeing technical and financial aspects of various projects, managing and developing client relationships, and marketing Pickett’s services to existing and new clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage various projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
- Responsible for overall project performance as well as managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance of each project
- Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are maintained, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
- Coordinate and work with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
- Develop financial controls reports with Accounting and Project Controls to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal review
- Interface directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule and risks across a portfolio of assigned projects
- Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
- Assist with the preparation of bid documents, development of requests for proposal responses and cost estimates
- Support Marketing with proposal development, including scope, schedule and budgets
- Write comprehensive and technical project reports
- Work with Accounting and Project Controls on monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of related experience
- PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm is highly desired
- Experience in transmission line design and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Some travel is required
