About the Role
The Press Officer will devise and implement publicity campaigns for distributed titles, working within the Marketing and Publicity Division and alongside the Simon Global Sales team. This role involves building internal and external relationships to raise the profile of Simon Global titles, drive awareness, and support sales growth across the UK market.
Responsibilities
- Devise and implement a diverse range of publicity campaigns for distributed titles.
- Develop and deliver imaginative, effective, and high-impact publicity campaigns.
- Raise the profile of Simon Global titles, driving awareness and supporting sales growth across the UK market.
- Devise publicity strategies and execute campaigns across the Simon Global list.
- Take ownership of the publicity schedule.
- Identify titles with the greatest PR potential in the UK using commercial awareness and editorial judgement.
- Build strong international relationships.
- Manage expectations with authors and agents.
- Ensure clear, proactive communication to deliver successful campaigns.
- Allocate publicity resources across the Simon Global list.
- Prioritize campaigns and maximize opportunities for UK audiences using sound commercial judgement.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and highly motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of inventive and strategically driven publicity campaigns.
- Ability to identify the right audiences to maximise coverage, drive sales, and deliver against objectives.
- Highly organised and adaptable.

- Confidently balance competing deadlines.
- Established media contacts.
- Committed to developing and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, producers, influencers, and serial editors across print, broadcast, digital, and social media.
- Ability to work independently.
- May be required to work non-office hours to support authors at publicity events.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
