About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Glazier to oversee the installation, fabrication, and repair of glass and glazing systems across various commercial and residential projects. As a leader on-site, you will coordinate with team members, interpret technical drawings, and ensure that all work meets quality standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise glazing crews during the installation of windows, doors, mirrors, and other glass fixtures on construction sites.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications.
  • Measure dimensions precisely using tools such as tape measures, levels, and calipers to ensure quality control and proper fitment.
  • Handle glass materials safely during fabrication, transportation, and installation, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Use hand tools and power tools—including caulking guns, saws, drills, and metal stud framing equipment—to complete installations efficiently.
  • Coordinate with project managers to estimate costs related to glass materials and labor for accurate construction estimating.
  • Perform heavy lifting of glass panels and related materials while maintaining safety standards; assist in remodeling projects as needed.
  • Install various fixtures such as trim carpentry elements, cabinetry, metal studs, and framing components for comprehensive project completion.
  • Ensure all work complies with construction plans, building codes, and safety regulations; interpret technical drawings accurately for precise execution.
  • Conduct quality inspections during installation processes to verify measurements, fitment, and finish quality before project completion.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and glass handling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of window installation techniques, door hanging methods, fixture installation, and trim carpentry.
  • Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately for quality control purposes.
  • Skilled in handling glass materials safely during fabrication and installation processes.
  • Background in construction site experience with familiarity in remodeling projects and metal stud framing.
  • Knowledge of caulking techniques, construction painting basics, cabinetry setup, and handyman skills.
  • Experience with fabrication or manufacturing environments involving glass or related materials is a plus.
  • Excellent physical strength for heavy lifting tasks combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings effectively.
  • Strong understanding of schematics for fixture installation or custom fabrication projects.
