About the Role

ADAPP, a nonprofit organization serving the Archdiocese of New York for over 50 years, seeks a finance and operations leader to provide innovative and comprehensive prevention, counseling, and education programs addressing substance use.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Oversee financial reporting and accounting processes in compliance with nonprofit GAAP standards.
  • Ensure compliance with NYS Consolidated Fiscal Reporting System (CFRS), NYS Consolidated Budget Report (CBR), and state and federal grant regulations.
  • Supervise administrative and operational areas, including human resources, IT, facilities, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with the Archdiocese of New York Department of Education Finance Department regarding cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and operations teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Archdiocese risk management team to ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance & Audit Committee, presenting financial updates and insights.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, automation, and operational processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in finance or operations.
  • Experience working within a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with NYS CFRS, NYS CBR, and government grant reporting.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Lawson.
