  • Create project-related EPMS specifications.
  • Define integration strategies between EPMS, PLCs, mechanical and electrical systems, and third-party monitoring platforms.
  • Specify control panel requirements, I/O requirements, and communication protocols for all equipment.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical equipment manufacturers to ensure monitoring requirements are coordinated with equipment designs.
  • Collaborate with internal electrical engineers to ensure system logic aligns with owner design requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure network architecture and cabling requirements are incorporated into overall project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain company-wide standards for EPMS design, details, and documentation templates.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and technical workshops with clients, vendors, and commissioning agents.
  • Assist clients with evaluation and selection of control system integrators.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to validate drawings, sequences, and integration details before issuance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical Power Monitoring Systems design, preferably within consulting or mission critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of Branch Circuit Monitoring Systems (BCMS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Candidates with significant relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of one of these degrees.
  • Knowledge of control communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of PLC based Electrical Power Monitoring Systems.
  • Experience with Division 25 and 26 specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems including distribution equipment, generators, UPS, and similar equipment in the context of monitoring and integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly describe complex control sequences.
  • Experience solely in the context of manufacturing or process automation is not preferred.
